ABOUT ME
Brief Overview
To Future Medical Schools, Review Committees, and others reading,
Hello! My name is Emily Andrews. I am a LSU graduate with a Bachelor’s in Science, I majored in Biological Sciences with a Secondary Education Concentration.
Now, a little about my post graduation plans. I am currently working at Our Lady of the Lake as a Case Technician. My responsibilities in this role are to pull the instruments for the surgeries scheduled for the day, stock the operating rooms with supplies, clean up and turnover the room after surgeries end, and scrub in to hold cameras or retractors. Additionally, I bring items to and from the labratory and put instrument sets away after they are sterilized. This job has allowed me to watch surgeries up close and learn from many different doctors spanning several specalities.

My spring 2025 course load was student teaching at Liberty Magnet as well as EDCI 4720: Teaching Students with Dyslexia. My previous course load, fall 2024, consisted of; Science Teaching in Secondary School III: Instructional Strategies in the Sciences, Biochemistry of Aging, Parasitology lecture and lab, and Instructional Models for Mathematics & Science. I was on the Dean's List both semesters of my senior year.
As a part of the LSU Distinguished Communicator Program, I have created this ePortfolio to demonstrate my writing, speaking, visual, and technological communication skills for all those interested which earned me with a Distinguished Communicator medal!

Thank you for reading!
